Starting his venture as a writer, lens-based artist Sharbendu De found his calling in photography. Rejecting colonial documentary methods, this photographer tells the story of Arunachal Pradesh’s Lisu community by harnessing mythological symbolism in his cinematic stills. In this episode, Sharbendu presents a glimpse of his painstaking seven-year journey with AP’s indigenous people and his growth as a visual artist.
