Himachal- Treks, Trips, Trash & COVID-19
Himachal Pradesh has opened its borders to tourism with COVID-19 lockdown relaxations. The problem for trash tourism and waste management in the hills remains a looming concern for business owners running cafes, homestays and hostels in the state. The coronavirus is here to stay, but as tourism resumes, kick-starting revenue for the locals, is the Himachal’s healthcare system equipped to handle an outbreak? But does business, as usual, come at the cost of the environment? Plastic pollution is now considered one of the largest environmental threats facing humans and animals globally.
