I beat COVID-19 on Mt Everest and left no trace behind in my green expedition
A climb to the highest peak in the world can be treacherous, but can it be eco-friendly? Meet Harshvardhan Joshi, a mountaineer who scaled Mt Everest and left no trace behind. How did he manage to accomplish that? Harshvardhan and his team carried solar panels for their expedition. The supplies helped him succeed in a clean expedition and lasted them nearly two months. But this wasn’t the only crazy part of his journey. Joshi tested COVID-19 positive on Everest Base Camp but returning wasn’t an option for him, so he fought the virus in extreme conditions and continued his expedition. A surreal adventure, he scaled Mt Everest on May 23, 2021.
