When I was a child, I saw a tiger cross the canal as it was about to attack us. For Md. Mujahidur Rahman Rubel, the Sundarbans are more than a forest — they are home, livelihood, and protection. He has seen tigers stray into villages and people live in fear. Today, through Friendship and the Mountains to Mangroves initiative, Rubel works as a community caretaker is guarding saplings, protecting the forest, and helping people and tigers coexist safely.
