Smoke usually disappears into thin air, leaving behind nothing but a fleeting memory—and pollution. But Odisha’s Deepak Biswal found a way to trap it, tame it, and turn it into permanent, powerful art.
Known as the "Smoke Artist," Deepak doesn't use traditional paints. Instead, he harvests his medium from the exhaust of vehicles and the residue of burnt, discarded wood. What used to choke the environment is now used to breathe life into canvas, carrying deep social messages that demand attention.
