If we have already had the COVID-19 infection then do we need to take both doses of the vaccine? The answer to this is, it is really important to take both doses of the vaccine because all the studies till now have not been able to determine the time period for which antibodies remain in our body after the COVID-19 infection. And till what time will our immune system continue to maintain immunity against the virus. That’s why, if you have already had COVID-19 and you have recovered from it, then it is essential that three months after recovery, as advised by the health ministry, you should take both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Follow the guidelines which have been made and get both doses of the vaccine, even if you have recovered from COVID-19. Getting vaccinated maximises your ability to receive full immunity from the virus.
