The sudden rise in those suffering from mental illness is up to 20% in India, according to a survey by the Indian Psychiatry Society

According to the survey, at least one out of every five Indians is suffering from mental illness.

UGC has also directed all universities and colleges to set up mental health helplines to address psychosocial concerns of students during the lockdown

The Neerja Birla-led Mpower partnered with the government of Maharashtra and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have also launched a 24x7 helpline to address mental health concerns during Covid-19 pandemic.
