What is the climate clock? Raul de Lima walks us through the project featuring the Climate Clock’s Loss and Damage Lifeline. The clock tracks the climate debt (in $US) that wealthy, high-emitting G20 countries owe for the devastating impacts their excessive carbon emissions have caused to others, especially those in "developing" countries. Preventing the world from warming 1.5 degrees globally, climate finance needs to transfer to the Global South without increasing the Climate Debt. Raul urges the G7 and G20 to pay up for Loss & Damage as a clear climate solution to help the world meet its necessary climate goals.
