KUMBH MELA - IN SEARCH OF MOKSHA

Kumbh Mela, also known as Kumbha Mela, is a religious festival in Hinduism that is celebrated four times over 12 years, with the site of observance rotating between four pilgrimage locations along four sacred rivers&mdash;at Haridwar on the Ganges, at Ujjain on the Shipra, at Nashik on the Godavari, and at Prayagraj at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Sarasvati. Each site&rsquo;s celebration is based on a distinct set of astrological positions of the Sun, the Moon, and Jupiter, with the holiest time occurring at the exact moment when these positions align. The Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj, in particular, attracts millions of pilgrims. Additionally, a Great Kumbh Mela festival is held every 144 years at Prayagraj. The 2019 festival attracted approximately 150 million people.

This film tells the story of a storyteller whose love for cinema grew even faster than he did. Born and brought up in a village, he was the son of a Sarpanch, which allowed him to afford watching every new film. He would cycle all the way to another village where there was a small theatre to watch the films. Even the person who sold tickets on the black market would always have an extra ticket for him, never charging more than the original price, recognising the kid's love for films. He would watch films as if he were a part of them, living the story as his own. &nbsp;He also had a friend who would reach his home before he returned from watching the film. His friend also loved stories but couldn't afford to go to the cinema, so the boy would tell him the story. The day after the release of a new film, his entire class would maintain silence for him to narrate the story. He would recount the film in his own unique way, and the other students loved it. He continued this until he grew up. &nbsp;It is then revealed that this is a film within a film, a vision of a director who is now starting the shooting of this story.
