Under The Same Sun  COP Premiere

Under The Same Sun: Gujarat is a community-led video storytelling campaign co-created by PLUC and Self Employed Women&rsquo;s Association under the Social Saheli initiative, launched at COP30.
While SEWA has trained thousands of rural women as solar technicians, a critical gap remained&mdash;recognition and visibility. Women were often confined to peripheral roles, with their technical skills overlooked.
The campaign addresses this by enabling women to document their own work through mobile-first storytelling. Across Gujarat, 1,000+ women captured real-time solar labour&mdash;installation, maintenance, repair, and operations&mdash;creating stories in local languages, later subtitled for wider reach.
With 3000+ videos and a reach of 3 million, the campaign has become one of India&rsquo;s largest visual archives of women-led solar work. Distributed across digital platforms and supported by offline screenings, it engaged both grassroots communities and clean-energy stakeholders.
Beyond visibility, the project strengthened women&rsquo;s professional identity, increased community recognition, and demonstrated a ready, skilled workforce for India&rsquo;s energy transition&mdash;including participation from groups such as salt workers and Rabari communities.
Under The Same Sun makes a clear case: India&rsquo;s clean-energy future depends not just on jobs, but on recognising the women already powering it.

Gen Z reacts to Girls on a Mission

The pendemic jeopardised the schooling of 11 million girls in rural India. But Puneeta, Nisha, Rinku and Pinky, from Kushinagar, UP, decided to not let the pandemic worsen the relentless problem of school dropout. The four girls began a school enrolment campaign during the pandemic to ensure no girls in their village would lose access to education. It&rsquo;s a campaign that sensitised 1500 people across 10 villages in Uttar Pradesh and engaged with 218 Mushahar families. Enabling 166 children (52 boys and 114 girls) to be enrolled in school. Winner of the WAN INFRA South Asian Digital Media and nominee of two Scarab Film awards, this documentary heralds their story of change.

With the social and legal consequences that still come with being out today, with so few public examples of us, only a fraction of our stories are being told. And yet, some of&nbsp;the most important people in LGBTQ+ history&nbsp;are alive today. The LGBTQI+ community have one thing to say to the world - &ldquo;Our stories are the most powerful tools that we have.&rdquo; Tune into raw, emotional and inspiring conversations on this journey of how the community grapples with being outcasts. From rallying for change in the Pride March to creating history with the scrapping of Article 377, legalising homosexuality and the rights of homosexuals in India, finally to manoeuvring being stuck at home in the middle of a pandemic, watch the roller coaster of a community left on the fringes of society.
