Arjun is based in Bangalore, India, where he co-runs Improv Lore, and improv theatre troupe nurturing local improv talent while exploring storytelling with a South Asian lens. His approach to storytelling is inspired from folktales, and mythology that he grew up on in India. A lot of his work is centered around using improvised storytelling to explore characters, motivations, and teachings from these folktales and mythologies. He's also influenced by the collaborative nature of tabletop boardgames like Dungeons & Dragons, which allows him to explore character-driven spontaneous storytelling. His journey has taken him across the globe, studying, performing, and teaching in cities such as Barcelona, Dubai, Copenhagen, Vancouver, Manila, Hanoi, and Singapore. He spent time working with Keith Johnstone at the Danish National School of Performing Arts that deeply shaped the way he approached improv. From 2021 to 2022, Arjun served as the Artistic Director at the International Theatresports Institute (ITI), where he worked on building policy suggestions around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in improv to make theatre more accessible and inclusive for improvisers from all backgrounds.
