Indigenous people are among the first to face the direct consequences of climate change, due to their dependence upon, and close relationship, with the environment and its resources. They interpret and react to the impacts of climate change in creative ways, drawing on traditional knowledge and other technologies to find solutions which may help society at large to cope with impending changes.

In this episode of People of Our Forest, we have Lipsa Hembram, a fashion designer belonging to the Santhal tribe in Odisha, one of the largest tribal communities in India. She is helping us understand why we need to preserve the rich cultural heritage of native communities, and how by doing so we are preserving nature at large.
