Meet Bhaguti Devang, Neelima Devang and Gomti Kashyap who are running a successful self-help groups and turning into rural entrepreneurs thanks to worms and cow dung! Yes, you heard that right. Turning them into compost, they are running a sustainable local business. How was it made possible? Chhattisgarh government’s Godhan Nyay scheme buys manure from rural areas. For the women in self-help groups this is not just an opportunity to run their households but also a route to their empowerment. The women of these SHGs also redirect the compost into their own farming lands increasing the soil quality of their own farms and reaping dual benefits of their hard work.
