Being a woman isn't easy in this world, but being a single woman in rural India comes with its own burden of challenges. Ramvanti had had her fair share of ups and downs before she found a self-help group (SHG). What did the SHG do? It gave her a chance to define her path to a sustained livelihood. In Varanasi's Ramna village, Ramvanti trained and learnt how to refine her skills. Today, she creates designer wear, masks and many more handloom items in the Beti Bachao SHG powered by the Sakhi Saheli foundation. Her only dream is to enable more women who can earn and fend for their families.
