Are you worried about taking the vaccine? But what is AEFI? And why is everyone talking about it? Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFI) means any adverse event taking place after a vaccine is administered. Dr Chandra Vardhan assures us that there is no reason for anyone to be afraid of the vaccine as the government of India has kept all of these things in mind while planning the immunisation drive. In every centre, AEFI Kits have been made mandatory/ After vaccination everyone should spend half an hour in the vaccination centre to see if there is any adverse reaction. In case there is any adverse reaction there is an AEFI kit kept in every Public Health Centre (PHC).  All the staff at the PHC have been trained to use these AEFI kits in an emergency.  Even after going home in case there is an emergency go to the CoWIN 2.0 app and contact the help numbers given there or visit the nearest PHC for getting any support that you may require in an emergency.
