Mangrove forests are one of the world’s most important ecosystems – incredibly efficient at locking away carbon, havens for wildlife, and invaluable at providing income and protection for coastal communities around the world. But wherever they grow, mangroves are under threat. In a village in western India, one group of women wanted to protect these forests, so they set up an eco-tourism collective to educate and inspire the world. There was just one problem – they didn’t know how to row a boat.
