India’s Migrant Crisis During the Lockdown
Thousands of migrant workers in India’s urban cities are walking back to their villages hundreds of kilometers away. As the coronavirus lockdown comes into place, states have shut their borders while for the workers, their employers have furloughed them. State and central governments are clamoring to arrange for food and shelter for the migrants but critics say the effort is too little, too late.
