Documenting the frontline Anganwadi workers (AWW) and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) workers this story shares the journey of how this army of women in India who have become the backbone of the country’s healthcare infrastructure since the coronavirus pandemic hit us. From the door-to-door surveys that helped mobilise COVID-appropriate behaviour to fighting stigma against COVID-19 at the community-level and finally creating awareness as these foot soldiers embark on one of the largest immunisation drives in the world, this is the journey of healthcare workers who have shared contribution in keeping our society safe.
