Yes, they are mothers but that definitely doesn’t define their identity. Meet the courageous women entrepreneurs of Social Saheli who have been enabling and empowering mothers across sections of the society. From single mothers struggling to make ends meet to widows with zero social security, the Geeta self-help group has discovered talent at the grassroots level. With each sewing project they are upskilling the rural moms of India one business idea at a time. And what’s more the women led by Gayatri Chandrawar and Kanchan Mali are leading the brigade of change for their daughters and sons by setting an example.
Good news- Geeta SHG’s products are now registered by ODOP (One District One Product), an initiative by the government of Uttar Pradesh. Gayatri and her group are ready to gear up production.
