Imagine standing tilted at an angle of 45 degrees, with water logged around your feet, cement covering up your feet and no room left to breathe. Well, this is what a lot of trees go through in the monsoon season in metropolitan cities. The routine solution provided by local authorities is to chop off the tree and forget about it but a local community of eco warriors in Defence Colony did not want that to be the story for their beloved Alstonia tree. The tree which had tilted more than 45 degrees was restored thanks to their efforts and intervention. Ranjit Batra, Bhavreen Khandari and many local residents including Warrior Moms have helped restore the balance by saving the tree.
